Corrected 2002-2003 Property Taxes on Metro $160,000 Homes Available
As previously posted (January 8, 2004), concerns about the 2002 Property Tax Survey were brought to the Citizens League just after we released the 2003 Property Tax Survey on January 7. Because of this, we no longer have available on the web the December 2002 and December 2003 Minnesota Journal. We discovered a sorting error in the referendum tax rates for taxes payable in 2002. As a result, most cities' 2002 property taxes on a $160,000 home were not correct. This also impacted the degree of change in property taxes for these cities in our 2003 survey. Below are the corrected tables.
