Board Committees

Citizens League Board Committees
1st Quarter, 2004

The Citizens League Board has created four new committees. These committees are part of the League's new business plan, and are designed to focus the League's work on our four key public outcomes.

  • Policy Advisory Committee
Co-chaired by Mary Pickard and Art Rolnick

Primary outcome: review and propose to the Board issues and ideas for the League to study, evaluate and/or discuss publicly. This committee will also review study committee reports as they are produced.  Proposed to meet quarterly.

  • Membership and Involvement Committee
Co-chaired by Marina Lyon and Chris Roberts

Primary outcome: propose and implement a campaign to increase membership by at least 20 percent/year.  Other outcomes: regularly review membership structure; and recommend and evaluate activities designed to increase participation and involvement in study committees, Mind Openers and new types of events. Meets monthly at first, perhaps quarterly after that.

  • Community Impact Committee
Co-chaired by Buzz Cummins and Tom Horner

Primary outcome:  support the implementation of League proposals (legislative and non-legislative). Other outcomes: identify and promote partnerships to improve our impact, and recommend changes to League processes to improve implementation. Meets regularly during legislative session.

  • Fundraising Committee
Co-chaired by Glenn Dorfman and Keith Halleland

Primary outcome: propose and implement fundraising strategy based on new League business plan.  Proposed to meet quarterly.
