Current Projects

There are many ways for citizens to participate in the League's activities:

  • Serve on a Study Committee
A call for volunteers is sent to every League member prior to the start of a new study. Typically two or three studies begin each year.
We just concluded three study committees, on higher education, transportation and high school reform.

  • Participate in special projects
    Currently:
  • Serve on a Board Committee
These committees are part of the League's business plan, and are designed to focus the League's work on our four key public outcomes. Currently:
    • Policy Advisory Committee
    • Membership and Involvement Committee
    • Community Impact Committee
    • Fundraising Committee

  • Attend Mind-Openers
Mind-Openers provide a regular forum for you to learn about issues and talk with policymakers. As a member of the League, you'll be "in the loop" regarding a variety of other forums and conferences in the community.

  • Read the Minnesota Journal and Citizens League Matters
Both are mailed monthly to members. In it you'll find succinct coverage of public affairs issues and ideas, and updates about League activities like Mind-Openers, Study Committees, and Board Committees.

  • Make a financial contribution and join the Citizens League
Being a member of the Citizens League says much about who you are and what you value. And it supports the civic infrastructure for a non-partisan approach to public problem solving.
