Policy and Working Committees

Study Committees

Since 1952, the Citizens League has engaged its members in a unique policy development process we call study committees. Study committees are made up of Citizens League members who get together to learn about, talk about, and make recommendations about an important public policy issue. Read more about current and past study committees.

Policy working groups become familiar with the historic work of the Citizens League on particular issues, keep track of the changing policy landscape in Minnesota, and advise the Citizens League Board and staff on potential projects (events, study committees, etc.) relating to the issue. Minnesota Mental Health Action Group

The Minnesota Mental Health Action Group (MMHAG) is a coalition of people and groups who are working on mental health reforms, led by a core group of influential public and private sector leaders who have vision and leadership roles within their own constituencies to effectively champion change. Action Groups

Young participants (ages 18 to 26) are organizing projects to take action in the areas of energy and the environment and poverty and public leadership. The two action groups focus on a specific question within each area, propose a plan of action to address the question, and put that plan into place. Find out more about the action groups.

Facts Unfiltered Working Group

Each month, Citizens League members and staff collaborate to select a timely policy topic, then ask the important -- and sometimes uncomfortable -- questions and dig up the answers. Just the facts, unadulterated and unspun. Find out more or apply to serve on the Facts Unfiltered Working Group.
