The fundamental purpose of the Education Policy Working Group is to build the capacity of the Citizens League in general, and working group members in particular, to lead the public conversation about education policy in Minnesota.

The Citizens League believes that the public conversations about education policy in Minnesota should be reframed around democracy as the fundamental purpose of education -- and we believe that we are uniquely positioned to lead this new conversation.

The Education Policy Working Group will begin this conversation in the Citizens League. The working group will serve as a brain trust for education policy at the Citizens League, helping us to develop a set of core values around education -- and understand how and whether our past work is relevant in today's policy debates.
