2009 Long-Term Care Workshops
A series of three workshops was held in August 2009 as part of the project on Long Term Care Financing. The workshops were intended to develop ideas for promoting incentives in the areas of Informal Care, Health and Medical Choices, and Financial Behaviors.
Perhaps the most interesting finding to emerge was that the environment in which a person makes decisions is chaotic, often stressful, and generally lacking in the incentives and information that spur wise choices -- whether in the isolation of being a family care provider, the carried confusion of making health choices upon discharge from a hospital, or preparing financially for one's future.
